Now here's a room with an elephant: so let's discuss this first.
This is a RPGMaker game, complete with assets from the original. There is some nice new anime artwork however and the obligatory intro story. And yet, and yet. It sidesteps the tedium of combat by allowing the user to remain on-map and run-through an opponent: the result being like a flip of a coin whereby you either win the day or take a bloody nose. So it keeps the action going over some nicely-done maps across a nicely-paced story. It is brimful of love and care and despite the limitations of the engine it really is one to recommend. RPGMaker has many detractors, so I am proud to stand alongside those games that push the genre. |
